Havnsg App

A digital bridge between migrant workers and community support

The Havnsg app is a community-driven platform designed to amplify migrant workers’ voices and choices. By enabling workers to articulate their needs directly and allowing the wider community to respond thoughtfully, the app fosters a sense of community and empowerment through technology.

What the App Does

The Havnsg app allows migrant workers to:

  • Request essential items such as phones, clothing, household goods, and daily necessities

  • Share needs directly rather than relying on intermediaries

  • At the same time, it allows donors to:

  • View real, specific requests from workers

  • Contribute items or support directly through the platform

This model ensures that help is need-driven, respectful, and impactful.

Why We Built It

Many migrant workers face barriers when seeking support, including lack of access to information, limited outreach channels, and stigma around asking for help. Traditional donation systems often fail to reflect what workers actually need.

The Havnsg app was created to address these gaps by:

  • Giving workers agency and choice

  • Making generosity more accessible to the wider community

  • Reducing waste and mismatch in donations

Built With the Community

The app is being used in collaboration with migrant worker communities, including workers living in large dormitories. Feedback from users directly informs how the platform evolves, ensuring it remains practical and inclusive.

The Havnsg app reflects HAVN’s broader mission to combine youth leadership with community partnership to create sustainable impact.

As the app grows, HAVN aims to:

  • Expand access to more dormitories and worker communities

  • Strengthen partnerships with donors, volunteers, and organizations
